Just a few small updates for you.

I’ve adopted a lil gummy bear named Mika. I wanted to adopt Mika because that’s my baby nephew’s name. And he’s the cutest baby. You can see my gummy bear at the bottom of the sidebar.

I have some new affiliates. Thanks to Jake and Stephine for accepting me.

I’ve been thinking about making a new design, but with all I have going on right now I just don’t have the time. So I think instead I’m going to focus on making this one work better for me. The sidebar is very sloppy and I want to clean it up. The navigation is pretty poor, too. I’m going to work on that, as well as see how impossible it would be to get my site validated. Hoping to release some new goodies soon.

I also wanted to bring on someone to work with where I can help them optimize their site. Help them make it look nicer, load faster, validate it, etc.. and then post the results on the site as sort of a guide. If you’re interested in this (a service that would usually cost hundreds of dollars), please let me know. You’ll need a couple of hours for about a week to work with me on it.

Since the last update, I’ve put up some new Jojo PSDs. They’re cute, I think. I tried to make a set of it, but I only ended up being able to do two of them. They match, though, so they should be pretty good for layouts or blends.

Today I put up some new stock photos, too. We went to the park for a while and I was going to take photos but the D60 was full and dead, so all these were taken with my p-o-s camera. They’re still pretty nice, though. I hope you can find a use for them. If nothing else, they’d make decent brushes or even textures.

I’ve signed up for the free trial on this site and I have to admit, it’s a little overwhelming. I’m glad they offer training and even consulting, because it’s important to me to make sure my business can perform well for years to come. I’m glad there’s a solution to ensure a return on investment from my marketing budget.

Lalaland.nu was registered in 2000 and unfortunately I don’t have anything from before then, however I do have some uber tiny thumbnails of the original 9 layouts. Looking at them now I really know they suck, but back then they were amazing. Haha. I see sites out there now that look like it did back then, actually. So anyway, here they are.

I’m working on the History page that will include more information about the site itself, along with more graphics from back then. None of the links to the original sites work, but I also have some old awards I was given that I plan to put up, too. Most of the old buttons are pretty ugly, but I’ve found one that I think is nice enough to put up. It looks like there’s a big gap of files I don’t have, probably on that old hard drive I have packed away, but this should be more than enough to give people an idea where this site comes from.

I hope you all enjoyed taking this trip back to 2000-2002. I know I have.

I was planning to add some stock photos (the page is already listed up there under Graphics), but the photos I have aren’t as wonderful as I had hoped. I do have a few, though. And I’m going to work on more. Right now I’m looking for an old layout I had once released on Radkitten, so I can fix it up a bit and release it here. It’s a million times better than any of the old layouts I had on this domain before. But maybe for fun I’ll upload a few screen captures for you.

I just tried to turn on my old computer and found that it won’t turn on. I have an extra power supply so I’m gonna try changing that out. I really hope that’s the problem and I can just remedy it right away for free. Never works that way, but let’s all keep our fingers crossed.

I can’t believe it’s 9 o’clock all ready. Gotta get some sort of content up tomorrow. Maybe I’ll do double to make up for my slacking today! Who knows..

I was a little put off by the small size at first. I was kind of hoping to hold out for a bigger one. Jay and I made a deal, though, that if I were to get this one and a bigger one would come out, he’d take this one and I could get the new one. Does that man spoil me, or what?

You’re asking who ‘Jay’ is, aren’t you. Well, he’s the man who created the muse, which caused me to create Lala Land in the first place back in (oh wow) 1999. It was a simpler time back then for the web. You could be a internet celebrity with the help of The Palace and Paint Shop Pro (think: dolls). Anyway, we decided to have a baby, but then had to be apart for a while when I was pregnant, so I spent my days working on websites. The fluffy pastel colored one named Lala Land was a big hit. 

For those of you who know of this site already, I’m going to take you down memory lane in a future post. I have some files from those good ol’ days that I’ll share when I can hunt them down. Great stuff, really.
